Brian Proctor, DO

Dr. Brian Proctor, a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing in the Chicago area for over 17 years. He has performed thousands of ocular surgeries ranging from complex intraocular cataract procedures to delicate oculoplastic operations. After graduation from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed his residency with the Detroit Ophthalmology Consortium, where he served as chief resident. During his studies, he performed research both here and abroad at The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland and Wilhelm Schuthless Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland.

 

Publications authored by Dr. Proctor have appeared in journals which include the American Journal of Ophthalmology and The New England Journal of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a fellow in the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology. He has given numerous local lectures and presented at national conferences.

 

He is an Associate Clinical Professor at Loyola University Medical Center/Stritch School of Medicine, where he helps train residents in ophthalmology. Currently, he is Chief of the Surgery Department at the Loyola University Gottlieb Memorial Campus where he has raised OR efficiency for eye surgeries by implementing best practices. He has also served as the Medical Staff President.
